This recipe has a long history in our family, passed down through five generations. It was my great, great Grand Mama's favourite recipe to cook for her family. In 1920 she came to Cambodia, married, had 5 children and started an import/export business, and still found time to make dishes like this to nourish and care for her family. This dish is made with fresh coconut juice, pork belly, boiled egg, shiitake, potato and carrot. My kids love it because it has everything they love in one warming bowl. Mum always said cooking this dish was nothing secret, the only thing to make it more delicious was when you cooked your with your heart and soul.
